Our Nov. 1 meeting is planned as an afternoon meeting, to officially dedicate the small music park that our club is donating to Lafrienere Park. Shelley Ferro has worked hard to put the pieces together, getting confirmation from councilman Impastato as our guest speaker that day and working to get the Lafrienere Foundation Room as our meeting venue. The dedication of the music park will precede a concert at the park that evening. |
Last Thursday, Lana Stevens, of the La. Organ Procurement Agency, described how the agency coordinates the recovery of donated organs. She also gave assurance that no recovery takes place before a very thorough and redundant procedure establishing brain death and family approval.
