As some of you know there is a requirement that at least one person on a PIT Stop Crew

has a valid B. C. Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.

A Level 1 Course has been scheduled for Saturday, November 19th, 2011, at Kamloops United Church, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which includes time to write the multiple choice exam at the end of the course. Anyone affiliated with PIT Stop is welcome to attend.

The cost will be $25 which includes the class, the price of the workbook, and the certificate (online course $105). The class size is limited to 12.

Please RSVP by October 29th, so I can order and receive the workbooks in time.

Anyone who already has a BC Foodsafe Certificate may be wondering about it expiring, the B. C. Foodsafe Website  www.foodsafe.ca states:

Does my FOODSAFE certificate expire?
Some employers require a new certificate after a certain period of time. However, at present, most FOODSAFE certificates do not expire. If you received your Level 1 certificate more than three years ago, it is recommended that you take the course again. Having a recent certificate is an advantage when seeking employment.
