Silver Star Rotary President, as well as the District RYLA Chairman, Keith Johnston introduced Nick Gallant and Blake Edwards who recently were involved with the program. Nick and Blake gave a brief overview of their experiences, both as a participant (Nick) and youth staffer (Blake).
Thanking these gentlemen is Kal Rotarian, Calvin Hoy, who was one of the "mentors" at the most recent RYLA Camp.
RYLA is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants can be ages 14-30, but most clubs and districts choose to focus on a narrower age range, such as 14-18 or 19-30.
If you would like any additional information about the RYLA Program and/or would like to refer a young adult to consider attending the next RYLA session, have them check out the following link to the Rotary International website at ;http://www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYouth/YouthPrograms/RotaryYouthLeadershipAwards(RYLA)/Pages/ridefault.aspx and/or speak to either Calvin Hoy, Vern Belsheim, both of the Kalamalka Rotary Club, or Keith Johnston of the Silver Star Rotary Club.
