Brady Rotary Club Business from Tuesday, January 13, 2026
Four students will be attending RYLA this week: three from Brady, and one from Rochelle.
The Golf Tournament committee met. May 2nd is reserved at the golf course for the tournament. Zach is sending helpful information gleaned from past tournaments. A list of prospective donors is planned to be split amongst the whole club for reaching out with the assistance of the Interact members.
Mike Barbour suggested a safe haven baby box as a potential project for the club. Total cost including installation is estimated at around $21k. Melissa Richardson suggested that if we don't do it we might look at implementing some kind of alternative way to safely facilitate handing over babies from caretakers who are overwhelmed.
For 2026, it was decided to pay half the annual cost of using our meeting space now and the other half toward the middle of the year.
Our guest speaker was custom home builder, James Billingsley, who spoke about ways to minimize thermal bridging in order to reduce the conditions that favor mold.
A Note on Guests
If you bring guests and/or prospective members to our weekly Rotary meetings, please let Lynn Munden know by Friday of the week before so there is enough food for everyone. We have more members attending each week, which is great, but Lynn needs to know about extras. Rotary members pay for their guests' meals (excluding the speaker). Orlando adds it to monthly dues.
