Our guest speaker next week will be August Pfluger, our representative to Congress. If you plan to bring a guest, please let Lynn know by Friday, January 23rd.
Orlando reported that RYLA went well. Perhaps more detail to follow.
A coming milestone for the golf tournament will be generating the list of prospective donors, which is planned to be split amongst the whole club for reaching out with the assistance of the Interact members.
Mike Barbour's suggested safe haven baby box was further discussed. Mike is looking into the possibility of requesting an LCRA grant for it. Melissa Richardson reported that the box in Abilene has already been used. Tim Jones told Mike that the hospital would be in favor of it, and there is a place to install it there away from the security cameras. The fire station, and perhaps other possible locations, are still being considered. Several people offered to help Mike in gathering more information.
A Note on Guests
If you bring guests and/or prospective members to our weekly Rotary meetings, please let Lynn Munden know by Friday of the week before so there is enough food for everyone. We have more members attending each week, which is great, but Lynn needs to know about extras. Rotary members pay for their guests' meals (excluding the speaker). Orlando adds it to monthly dues.
