Brady Rotary Club Business from Tuesday, July 28 2026
This summer's Stuff the Bus is happening on Saturday, August 8. There are still some slots open for 10-12 and 12-1.
For this year's G. Rollie White grant request, we will be submitting for a grant to provide shade for the playground equipment at E.O. Martin Park. We will be asking for $50k of the estimated $97k cost, with the city providing $47k.
There was some discussion about the possibility of returning to a weekly meeting schedule. We will also look at whether we'll continue to meet at the high school, or possibly meet at the First Christian church building.
Club president Chuck Jividen presented outgoing president Michael Cook with a gavel plaque in recognition of his service.
This year's officers were installed. From left to right are: Steve Defiore, sergeant-at-arms; Chuck Jividen, president; Bob Hoeppner, president-elect; Holly Garza, vice president; Lynn Munden, secretary; and Orlando Rubio, treasurer.
A Note on Guests
If you bring guests and/or prospective members to our weekly Rotary meetings, please let Lynn Munden know by Friday of the week before. This is especially important so that high school security can be prepared to allow entry. Also, this helps plan to have enough food for everyone on those days that lunch is provided. Rotary members pay for their guests' meals (excluding the speaker). Orlando adds it to monthly dues.
