In San Cristobal, Mexico, Maya mothers had to carry or walk their children over two hazardous miles to school every day.  Because of the dangerous walk, Maya directors moved their colony closer to the school and asked the Rotary Club of South Whidbey for assistance in building three classrooms for the children.  The Rotary Club of South Whidbey Island paid for all of the building material, while the Maya built the three classrooms at no labor cost.
