Thank you to all of our members who contributed to our review of the survey conducted in 2020 prior to the development of the Club’s Strategic Plan. My reading of the results showed that many of the priorities identified have been addressed and there are still some that need attention:
Completed projects or priorities:
Focus on local community needs
Develop Peel CCI relationship
Maintain and support community projects - Sail into Life, Family Fun Day, Passages, Foodbank and other not for profit groups through grant funding
Cycling without Age support
30-34 engaged members
Successful applications for District Grants
Ongoing Fund raising through Duck Race, Wishing Well, Crab fest parking, Swap meets, Golf Day and BBQs
Solar birthing kits project in Philippines
Still a priority:
Bulletin produced via Club Runner
Stronger Youth Committee
Improve links to schools
Sumba Water project in Indonesia
Increase visibility in our community
Each member active in some way
Interesting guest speakers
Engage the indigenous community
Reduce the cost of Rotary to members
New boats for Sail into Life
Our Strategic Plan will be updated and shared with Club members in the near future.
We also started planning for the Golf Day (9th November 2023) and the Christmas Lights Wishing Well, which are two important fund-raising activities for our Club. We need members to recruit participants in the Golf Day and assist with attracting donations for the prizes, auction items and raffle on the day. The wishing well will be reconstructed in late November and we will need volunteers to collect $s daily, over 5 weeks in December and early January.
