Congratulations to our 2024 Scholarship winners and thank you to our scholarship sponsors. At our Scholarship Presentation Luncheon at Rosehill Community Center this last Thursday we presented 39 scholarships totaling $72,500 to seniors at Kamiak, Mariner, Cascade and ACES High Schools. 25 scholarships were funded by our annual general funds raised through our annual auction and various fundraisers. 14 scholarships were funded through sponsorships by local individuals and organizations.
President Joe Marine opened the program and introduced 2023 Mukilteo Citizen of the Year Sheila Countryman-Bean who provided a meaningful “Thought for the Day”. Scholarship Chairman Fred Baxter provided an overview of the scholarship program and introduced Superintendent of Mukilteo School District Dr. Alison Brynelson, who presented the scholarships. Each recipient was honored by a slide presentation highlighting their accomplishments and featuring the school song of their chosen college or university.
Over 130 attended the luncheon which was catered by Shawn O’Donnell’s. The recipients, their families, sponsors and school counselors were guests of the South Everett Mukilteo Rotary Foundation. The event was co-sponsored by the City of Mukilteo, which provided the beautiful facilities at no cost to Rotary.
