This year's SEMR Scholarship program will culminate in the annual Scholarship Presentation Luncheon this year to be held Thursday June 1 from 12:00-1:30 in the Elliott Point Room at Rosehill Community Center.

Scholarship applications for seniors at Kamiak, Mariner, Cascade, ACES High Schools and the Mukilteo Virtual Academy are available now in the Career Counselors office at each school and on the SEMR website and are due to the Scholarship Committee by April 1.

This year at least $50,000 in scholarships will be awarded to local high school seniors based on the following criteria:
  • Commitment to Academics:
    • A 3.0 cumulative GPA or better is required.
    • Evidence of education as a priority with clear goals for future education
  • Commitment to Service:
    • Active involvement in extra-curricular activities at school and/or in the community
    • Meaningful service work provided within their community and evidence of interest in future service
  • Citizenship: Being a respectful and thoughtful member of their school and local communities
In addition to the general scholarships awarded each year, this year SEMR introduces the opportunity for SEMR members, friends and businesses to create and fund "Sponsored Scholarships" through tax deductible gifts to the SEMR Foundation. Those interested in sponsoring a scholarship should download the "Scholarship Development Worksheet and Gift Agreement" and contact Fred Baxter, Scholarship Committee Chairman at fred@baxterarchitects.com.
