Members and their partners of Both Rotary and Lions Clubs of Collie were welcomed by President Neil and President Brian Harrison respectively.

The purpose was to not only see who had the best bowling teams, but also exchange information, cooperation and enjoy fellowship.

President Brian reminded those present of Lions bowling prowess of winning four of the past six bowls nights with Rotarians.

  

 

Despite high hopes, and the skilled play from Rotarians and their partners, Lions triumphed by a narrow margin of 49 to 38 ends. Lions had some very good players, but Rotarians gave them a good run. President Neil thanked the Bowling Club for a most delicious dinner and Lions for being good sports.

Notifications have been issued for a meeting to re-iniate the Collie Probus Club in Collie. A meeting is to be held at the Collie Golf Club on Tuesday 1st March at 10:30AM. All are welcomed and existing Rotarians, and Lions, and anyone over 55 and active can become Probus members.

We have received an email from Pinjarra and Waroona requesting a busy bee to help with fencing repairs sometime in the next week, around 1 - 4 March. If anyone is available, let Keith know so arrangements can be made.

Neil made the meeting aware, and thanked the respective account custodians for the account contribution of some $16,200 towards the Valleyview Aged Care reopening of a wing of that facility. The donation will help increase the number of rooms available to Collie aged residents, which is the purposed of having a fully occupied facility. Valleyview will now have 64 beds.

Martin and Emma will be leaving Collie on 18th March. It is with great sadness that we will miss Emma's cooking. Their weekly dinners have raised an enormous amount of money towards the eradication of polio. Both will be greatly missed. There are only a few Tuesday nights left and should anyone want to attend the last of their dinners in Collie, please let Eric know.
