President Neil welcomed members and guests. Past President Bob led the meeting with a warm up song "Yellow Submarine" and then "We are Australian.  President Neil welcomed Rory and Rebecca O'Connor; and Steve Davies.

Tonight we are going for a drive on this TransPerth bus, followed by dinner at a mystery location.

Mark reported on a lunch and certificate presentation for those involved in the Smith Family Learning Groups over this semester at Wilson Park Primary and Collie Senior High School. Thanks and certificates were awarded to Neil Martin, Mike Booth, Barbara Jones, Jim Henderson and Steve smith.  The Smith Family appreciate the support from Rotary and hope to see volunteers for next semester reading groups.

President Neil acknowledged the work Joe Italiano has put into this project and with 4000 calendars we are ready to commence distribution starting tomorrow.  We need six volunteers to commence delivery in the Light Industrial Area and Allanson Township.

Bob advised member he has Darryl and whole family arriving next Tuesday and Darryl will be our guest speaker at next weeks meeting which all will find very interesting.

President Neil reported he will be absent from next weeks weekly meeting. However Past President Bob will be in charge and keeping the meeting in good order.

Geoff conveyed his thanks to Harry, Rory and Rebecca for their work in this years 2015 Collie Adventure Race. A very successful event and its good Rory and Rebecca could join us tonight.

Harry gave the members a status report on the work to be done on the BMX Club's Canteen. There is painting to be done on the ceiling and architrave and called for volunteers for next Monday at 4PM. A few put their hand up and are indicated here. Should others be able to help contact Harry.

Alice briefed members on her trip to Melbourne last week with Robyn, Glyn and Claire.  She thoroughly enjoyed the trip and there was much she had done, too much to cover here.

On her return is was straight to a camp with other exchange students where one of her activities was to learn to save a life. How to rescue someone from drowning provided they are not too large.

Our bus meandered through the back streets of Collie down some beautiful residential roads until we arrived at the BMX Club track where we found all their members, friends and children had cooked a barbeque in appreciation of Collie Rotary's work on the BMX Club canteen.

 

After reviewing the work done on the whole track, members were served a selection of snacks, drinks and barbecued meats. This was a surprise event for members and after eating, Harry gave thanks on behalf of the club for the work they have been doing to get BMX up and going again in Collie.  

 

 

Further, Graeme Pilatti, on behalf of the club presented Rachael Williams with around $500 collected tonight amongst Collie Rotarians. Rachael thanked Collie Rotarians and gave an overview of the work done to comply with association regulations and also thanked the BMX Club members for their untiring effort over the past few years.
