Past President Bob, led the invocation followed by our very favourite song "We are Australian", then a tuneful version of "Waltzing Matilda".

President Neil welcomed members and noted Libby and Keith Hopkins have returned from their long holiday.

Tonight includes a monthly Board meeting. By combining it with the Weekly meeting, gives members who hadn't been on the Board an idea of how it is run and the process of dealing with agenda.
The Board meeting was opened and minutes from this meeting will be made available later from Secretary Donna.
Following the meeting, President Neil invited comments from the members. There were only a few regarding details of the meeting content.
Barbara commended the Board members on the type and volume of work required of the Board, and the meeting concurred with Barbara's sentiments.
Keith Martin on behalf of Mike Booth, circulated a list requesting all names of those who will be attending the Melbourne Cup meeting at Darkan on Monday 2nd November with the Rotary clubs of Darkan and Wagin. Partners are invited and numbers are needed for calculating bus and catering services.
Alice Roster - has been circulated and members can contact Youthful John to make arrangements to enjoy some time with our Alice during their nominated week. If they can't take up the nominated week then members can swap time slots with other members.

John displayed an email from My Huong Le thanking the club for their support

"I would sincerely like to thank the Collie Rotary in supporting this project. A special thanks to Neil and John for the club in proposing this as a worthy cause. Without a doubt many children will benefit from learning sewing as a skill and I hope that in the future some will find employment as a result of having studied sewing. As I mentioned in our skype conference, recently 6 children gained employment in this field having studied sewing training at our centre in Long Hai. I will go ahead and have the machines ordered, so by next week they will arrive. Naturally I will take some photos and keep you up to date as to how it is going."

Her email was followed by another regarding the purchase of the sewing machines with photos of the children learning to sew.
President Neil asked for a show of hands as to who will be attending the Epicure restaurant trip and it appears around 16 will be attending. Enough for the two tables.

Another combined weekly and Board meeting will be held in about three months.

Riverview Residence Inc. are holding their AGM on Tuesday October 27 at 11AM at 3-5 Vernon Street.
