First Probus Club interest meeting held 1st March
After much advertising and organisation, Collie Rotarians hosted an initial meeting on Tuesday 1st March at the Collie Golf Club to guage public interest in forming a Probus Club for Collie.
In attendance were Probus Club members from other districts, as well as the Probus WA President, Winston Marsh and Probus South West Region President, Don Fawkes.
Unfortunately there were only a handful of interested persons who attended. Because of this, only the first part of the agenda was followed, so it was decided to hold a second public meeting event on 12th April. A venue will be notified along with a new agenda. It is the hope a club can be formed ahead of the Probus Association of WA, South West Region Information Day, to be held on Thursday 14th May - Koombana Room- Lighthouse Resort, Bunbury

Of those attending last Tuesday, it would seem a Probus Club could be formed if sufficient numbers are interested and take up club officer positions. Anyone over 55 years of age can join and they can also be members of Rotary or other service clubs.

Thanks go to attending Rotarians, Libby and Keith Hopkins, Pres. Neil Martin, Inc. Pres. Terry Hunter, Registrar Keith Martin, P.Pres. Bob Greig, Steve Smith, as well as any other Rotarians who assisted in getting us to this stage. For those wanting more information on Probus go to https://probuswa.wordpress.com/
