Harry’s Crew Demolish BMX Canteen Walls
It was cold when the Collie Rotary Club crew arrived.

On first inspection, it didn’t seem such a big job. Strip out two walls, no problem. One hour max, maybe another for clean-up. Items marked “Hold” were carefully removed and stowed.
Some termite damage was visible where there once was an opening in one wall.

It became apparent the termite damage was widespread, as the sheeting was removed termite activity was everywhere. Even the paper backing of the Gyprock sheeting had been eaten.

The damage was not only in the walls, the ceiling sheets were weakened and sagging as we removed the cornicing.  With a few slight blows, sections of the ceiling simply fell.

Rory arrived and could see the extent of termite damage.  Even a roof support beam had been attacked.  Jan turned up with much needed sustenance for the crew. With the wall lining removed, the next step is to have Doug Gulvin cast his expert eye over the job.
