Rotary Youth Exchange Student Visits club and Host Parent
1986 RYE student from Sao Paulo in Brazil Robson Mizuta visited the Club on Thursday 15th Feb to reconnect with one of his host parents Doug Gulvin and friend Donna Davies.
There were a few tears and many hugs shared during the club meeting, with Robson saying that the experience in Collie change his life for the better, and enabled him to make many friends within the Collie community.
Robson came to the club as a sixteen year old, with little knowledge of the English language, and even smaller knowledge of Australian culture.
Following his return to Brazil Robson studied, opened his own Travel Agency, followed by a Money Change Bureau, and now Robson manages his commercial property business.
Robson thanked the club for the opportunities the exchange afforded him in life, and he was extremely pleased to reconnect with Mr Gulvin.
