The City of Busselton has enjoyed a Sister City relationship with Sugito, Japan since 1996. The relationship grew from a Rotary exchange and school based exchanges. Over the years this relationship has strengthened and the range of activities expanded. Rotary continues to financially support the annual school exchange and is currently investigating the possibility of a scholarship scheme for local disadvantaged students so they can take part.  Recently students from Sugito arrived in Busselton and were welcomed to a Civic Reception at the City of Busselton which included The Mayor Grant Henley, Councillors, host families,  Mr Suzuki the Japanese Consul General and Ron Mildenhall and Shelly O'Brien members of the Busselton Geographe Bay Rotary Club.
