Happy Wednesday! I hope to see many of you tomorrow at our regular luncheon. Cheryl is cooking chicken fajitas for lunch and the new board of directors will each be presenting information about their 24-25 committees as the program.
There have been a few edits requested on the member booklet from the board, so it's been delayed a bit!
2024-2025 Community Projects
Click HERE to see a running list of proposed community service projects. Please keep this list confidential until it is approved! We will be looking to prioritize items on this list with a ballot on July 18, 2024. If there is a project on here that the club absolutely doesn't want to do, we can discuss that during the July 18th meeting.
Please email RuthBEFORE July 18 if you have a project you'd like to add to the running list. A short description of the need as well as an estimated cost should be included.
The board currently has $250,000 set aside for 24-25 community projects. The list linked above spends probably around $131,000, we're still waiting on some project estimates. Let's spend some money and do as many great things in our community this year as possible. During my year as president, I'd like to create magic throughout our Sedro-Woolley community. What other small projects can we dream of? What other organizations can we partner with to pay for items they wouldn't be able to otherwise dream of?
We are also hearing that some of our past projects need some TLC. Have you seen a Rotary-funded project that needs some fresh paint or stain? Send Ruth an email! She and Lin are working to create an inventory of past projects that could use a little refresh!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
At the 2024 Summer Concert Series, the focus will be on ROTARY! Kriss Rothenbuhler will have flyers about our club, but we need volunteers to set up a table each Sunday prior to the concert and at least 2-3 Rotarians to sign up for each concert to greet people and talk about the projects our club has done in the community over the years as well as what it means to YOU to be a Rotarian! Everyone's story is different and it's great to be able to share multiple perspectives about being a Rotarian. See the dates below and email or text Kriss asap to let her know which concert you can help at. And, YES, attending the concerts count as a meeting make-up!
Teak is picking up the shelter and taking it to Kriss.
Also, does anyone know who has a key to our storage room at the community center? Apparently, the lock was changed and Kristine doesn't have a copy of the key!
Potential New Members
Do you have a potential new member you would like to sponsor? Talk to the Membership Committee! The club's goal has set a goal to bring in two new members this year, but we would love to see more!
What are we looking for in new members?
Folks who meet the motto of service above self, not just to have membership on their resume.
Those looking to give back to our community!
Those who can attend at least 50% of our regular meetings!
Friendly and fun members who could also contribute in our service projects and fundraising efforts in a positive manner!
Former members who may want to rejoin the club because they're at a better stage in life to allow them to participate more!
