Community Service
  • Meals on Wheels; delivered 430 meals
  • Hosted seven (7) Junior Rotarian students at  weekly meetings
  • Participated in the ‘reading day program’ at Koenig Elementary School
  • Salvation Army: December Bell Ringing - $13,616 raised
  • Donated 105 Easter bags containing a reading book and other small presents to children of Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry (TREP) clients
  • Received a $3,000 District Grant to supply Narcan® and training to Two Rivers Police Department.  Narcan® is used to treat a narcotic overdose in an emergency
    • Hosted a community medication collection event and an educational session
  • Submitted 2018 Rotary District Grant application; Lakeshore CAP Polar Express book
  • Rotary display and booth at TR Community Care Day event
 
Donations
Donated over $5,345 to various local and international projects throughout the year, including:
  • Donated two bicycles to the Two Rivers Optimist Club Bike Giveaway ($200)
  • Donated school supplies to TREP
  • St. Peter the Fisherman: Christmas adopt-a-family program.  Donated items for a family of eight
  • Happy Bucks from club meeting; $80 donated to The Haven
  • Donated $250 to TREP at Christmas
  • Contributed $350 to water filter project in Haiti
  • Donated $1,000 to the Guatemala Medical Relief Project (GMRP)
  • Donated $500 to Two Rivers Schools Reading Program
  • Hosted the Senior Volunteer Luncheon for 200 volunteers from the Senior Center
  • Awarded two (2) $1,000 scholarship to Two Rivers High School students
  • Sponsored a student to attend the World Affairs Seminar
  • Donated $250 to Badger Boys State
  • Sponsored a ‘Sunday Supper’ at St. Peter the Fisherman; serving 125 meals
  • Contributed $215 plus non-perishable food items to TREP; 5th Tuesday Social
  • Made a contribution of $500 to Salvation Army; Parkview Apartment Fire Victims Fund
Club Events
  • Held 42 club meetings
  • Held annual steak fry attended by 20 people
  • Held annual holiday social attended by 20 people
  • Held three 5th Tuesday Socials
  • Initiated quarterly club assembly; project updates and financial summary
  • Ten Rotarians and guests attended Manitowoc Sunrise Veterans Day Breakfast
 
Club Fundraisers
  • Held the Annual Dinner/Auction for the Rotary Pavilion, 70 people attended; with a profit of $16,188.65
  • Participated in the TR Volleyball Tournament with the two Manitowoc Rotary Clubs
  • Held the annual Rose Sale: sold 213 dozen roses for a profit of $1,634
 
Club Highlights
  • Brian Jensen and Bob Gahl traveled to Guatemala to participate in GMRP mission trip
  • Club members donated $1,875 to  Rotary International
  • Club members donated $1,405 to PolioPlus Fund
  • Paul Harris Fellowship awards were presented to one member
  • Enhanced presence on Facebook, 108 likes in July; currently 120
  • Published more than three press releases in the Herald Times Reporter
  • Developed committee chairs to spread responsibility across the club
  • Created a scholarship evaluation tool
  • Revised the Club Membership Application Form
