Holiday House has been known by its name since 1957 when it only consisted of a few members who came together in a clubhouse to create holiday wreaths for the community. Now, after a complete re-branding, the organization that aims to provide services and programs for disabled and handicapped individuals will be known as Ascend Services.

Executive Director Deanna Genske said the new brand represents the organization's goal to uplift people and help people reach their own goals."Our support services are designed to empower individuals to ascend towards their personal and vocational goals by connecting them with resources within our community," she said. "We believe in offering choices that are very individualized and meaningful to each person served."The new logo is a striking purple color and features a heart above the word "Ascend." Genske said the heart is there because it is a symbol that shows unity among people and the color was chosen because it was historically connected with nobility and ambition, something she said describes the people the organization works with. She said purple is also representative of creativity and ideas.

"Ultimately, we are here to provide services to individuals that will help them reach their goals, whether they are personal or work-based goals," Genske said. "And if you ask anybody we have worked with … right away they were able to state that we were able to help them reach their goals."

Genske said the organization will also be unveiling new services throughout the coming year.
