Membership Service: The Milwaukee North Sunrise Rotary Club is a membership organization that provides the best service to communities. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best: ‘Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.’
One of the easiest ways that I gain satisfaction from life is by dedicating my time to a cause that I feel passionate about. Community service offers numerous opportunities for me to utilize my God given gifts to aid those in need of guidance and extra help. I decided to volunteer for the Rotary Club because of my desire and undying love to help others.
Throughout my time of service to the community, I had the opportunity to reinforce gifts that I already possessed, and I even had the fortune to develop a new set of skills by assisting people in need. I am inspired by the word of God, the "BIBLE" = Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. The Bible teaches us to love and serve one another. Listed below are a few Bible Scriptures that inspire and move my heart to serve:
1 John 3:18 - Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in our deeds and in truth.
Galatians 5:13-14 - For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
1 Peter 4:10 - As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
Lastly, God is not unjust; he will not forget our work and the love we have shown him as we have helped his people and continue to help them. Service to other is an awesome feeling!
