Rotary Gives $75,000 to All Children’s Playground

The Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary, represented by club president Mark Ziebell, far right, and grants chair Pat Thome, second from right, presented a check for $75,000 to members of the Friends of the Cedarburg Parks and Recreation including (from left) board members Steve Bicek and Krisie Mansell as well as Danny Friess, director of Cedarburg Parks, Recreation and Forestry.
The grant will be used to renovate the current All Children's Playground at Centennial Park in Cedarburg that was built over 30 years ago and has fallen into disrepair. Although the playground was intended to be an all-inclusive playground, many of the features have broken or were eliminated, according to Friess. The new playground will be completely state-of-the-art for all children to enjoy. Woodchips will be substituted with cleaner, maintenance-free surfacing. The new playground, which will be renamed the Rotary All Children’s Playground, is expected to be completed by Summer 2022. Fundraising is continuing.
