Outgoing President Michael and Incoming President Alan are seen here with their respective banners at our special Handover Breakfast held on Sunday morning at Royal Perth Golf Club's facilities.
At our meeting we were able to meet our incoming District Governor, Pat Schraven who we kept busy as she helped us award Club members with certificates to acknowledge their involvement in the work we do.

Pat helped with the following awards:

  • Robyn Metcalf (outgoing President's wife) received a Paul Harris Fellow for the great work she has done to support our club and the District
  • Michelle Kendall became our Ascot Rotarian of the Year for the amazing work she has done - usually behind the scenes stuff that is not often seen or recognised
  • Hugh Langridge, Jodie Sparks and Michelle Kendall all received 100% Attendance awards - well done, great effort.

Sixteen club members were awarded with Centurian status for their contribution towards the Rotary Foundation for this year.  This year's efforts will go towards the Polio Eradication Campaign and will be matched 2:1 with funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  This turns a $1,600 figure into $4,800.  Great work everyone.

Pat was also involved in the actual handover to our new Club President - Alan Thomson.  We wish Alan all the very best for his year as Ascot Rotary Club president.  Thank you Pat for being with us and getting so involved.  All the best for your year as District Governor too.
