Community Services News from Director Michelle Kendall
In April Director Community Michelle Kendall received notification from the Activities Organizer, Madison from Bunnings Belmont that Bunnings were no longer holding community run sausage sizzles, internal or external visits until the foreseeable future. We are still however doing product/gift card donations (pick up only)! As most of us have some down time it’s a great time to get the little projects done for your community group and I can help you get started with them.
In response to the above the Director Community arranged to have a proposal’s from Starick and NGALA for gardening type projects.
The Rotary of Ascot submission was submitted on the 30 April and approved by Bunnings on 5 May and the products were picked up on the 8 May.  Ascot Rotarian Stephen Kendall kindly picked up the products and delivered them to Starick and NGALA on 9 May.

Thank you Stephen Kendall (pictured) for delivering a donation from Ascot Rotary and Bunnings Belmont of water-wise plants and mulch for revamping the garden at one of our transitional houses.
Your ongoing support helps us continue to provide services to women and children escaping domestic violence
Note:
In addition to the Bunnings products the Ascot Board approved $300 to enable Starick to purchase more garden products.   Starick will provide Ascot with photos at a later date.

Thank you so much to Bunnings Belmont. and Ascot Rotary for donating some items for our gardens. Items included compost bins, soil, seedlings, tucker bush plants and children's tools. The educators and children were very excited and had an amazing time putting together everything and planting the plants.
Getting into the garden and involved in nature helps us support and teach the children about nature and environmental responsibility.
We are very grateful for your support!
