Rotary Student of the Month
Scholarship Program

Winona Rotary honors outstanding high school seniors through a Student of the Month Scholarship Program.  One student will be selected each month throughout the school year.  The applicant must be a high school senior from the Winona area.  The student selected each month will be notified by mail.  That student and his/her parents/guardians or school counselor will be invited to attend a Rotary meeting in the month for which they are chosen. Rotary meets every Wednesday at Noon at Westfield Golf Course.  The student will have the opportunity to give a short talk about themselves and his/her plans for the future.

Two of the eight Winona Rotary Students of the Month will be awarded a $500 scholarship at the end of the school year.  Each student will also be highlighted in the paper or other media as our Rotary Student of the Month.

Rotary International is a service club that was started in Chicago in 1905.  Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self.  It is known for its commitment to youth and education. Today Rotary International has over 1.5 million members and 32,000 Rotary clubs around the world.  Here in Winona we have continued this commitment with programs like Rotary Readers, Rotary Youth Exchange program, Dictionary Project, Books for Babies, and many other youth based programs.
