Let's rally behind him and welcome in the beginning of the new normal in a spacious indoor environment. The Elks Club has graciously offered to host us. Any and all welcome! |

State Representative Nicole Grohoski is currently in her second term as representative for the communities of Ellsworth and Trenton, and serves as a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities and Technology. She is a geographic information system (GIS) specialist and cartographer and currently works for a small, Maine-based mapping company.
Grohoski was the lead sponsor of a new, first-in-the-nation law to hold producers of packaging waste accountable for the cost of its disposal, which is currently borne by municipal taxpayers. The bipartisan bill was modeled on similar programs that are successful in more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. These programs cost less overall, with double the recycling rate that Maine achieves now. Grohoski grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from Middlebury College, where she studied environmental studies and chemistry. She volunteers with Green Ellsworth, the Heart of Ellsworth, and Meals on Wheels and is a board member of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, which she was the first woman to thru-paddle in 2006. Her hobbies include biking, hiking, paddling, skiing, studying natural history, and hanging out with her rescue dog, Roxy. |

Downeast Keto Bakery is a new small locally owned sugar free and keto friendly bakery in downtown Ellsworth. They make low carb goodies everyday to ensure that every item is as fresh as possible before it arrives at your home. Everything they make is small batch producation. We don't mass produce large quantities of low carb snacks and then store them in a warehouse until they're ordered. Their low carb keto bakery items are prepared and shipped or available for pick up locally.

Aaron Dority of the Frenchman's Bay Conservancey will give an update on the Ellsworth Library foot trail. Sept 20th the Ellsworth City Council unanimously approved a request from Frenchman Bay Conservancy (and other organizations that make up the Green Plan) a land easement necessary for the reconstruction of the library trail to begin. This foot trail will connect walkers to the Union River and eventually, the Central Street neighborhood. By improving public access to the Union River this trail reconstruction can be viewed as a gateway project to the larger river walk in downtown Ellsworth. |
