The new format for our Thursday evening meetings has been adopted and has received positive feedback.
The format has given opportunity for lots of fellowship prior to the meeting proper start at 7.00pm.
Unfortunately our guest speaker from Girra Girra Aboriginal Experiences was unable to attend this week's meeting.
Thursday 10 October 2019 was World Mental Health Day. It is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against the social stigma of mental illness.
Each year approximately 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness and in order to help future generations of young Australians ,we need to look ahead through research and find out how we can prevent this type of illness occurring.
Australian Rotary Health "Lifts the Lid on Mental Illness" by hosting Hat Day as a national annual fundraising day for mental health research.
Membership Director Lyn Davies
provided a presentation on the work of Australian Rotary Health and "Lift the Lid" during the meeting.
Terrigal Rotary Club celebrated Hat Day by members and guests wearing a variety of hats at our meeting and collected nearly $80.00 to donate to Australian Rotary Health.
