ROMAC

Young Vincent has been a ROMAC patient for the past 16 months, arriving in Australia from the Solomon Islands as a very sick 2-month-old baby in July 2019.  He had a blockage between his stomach and his oesophagus which meant he couldn't take in any food orally and needed to be fed via a canula into the stomach.  Vincent was flown by ROMAC to the Centenary Hospital in Canberra where he underwent emergency surgery to correct the fault.  Three operations and countless medical procedures later over the following 16 months, he was declared fit enough to return home.  He and his mother flew out to Honiara on Sunday.  Vincent and his mum, Cosinta, have been hosted by the District 9705 ROMAC Chair, Sandra Goldstraw and her husband Brian assisted by the local ROMAC team of volunteers.

The Canberra Times and ABC News picked up the story and featured it on the on-line services over the past few days
