Longer standing members of the Rotary Club of Terrigal will fondly remember Tommy Ahern, from Montreal in Canada, who spent 12 months in Terrigal in 2009-10 as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
On early Tuesday morning, 15th June, Lyn and Graeme, and Harold and Gina joined a Zoom meeting being hosted by the Rotary Club of Ottawa Metro in Canada during which past Rotary Youth Exchange Student, Tommy Ahearn was the guest speaker. Tommy was hosted by Rotary Club of Terrigal in 2009-10 and stayed with both Lyn & Graeme and Gina & Harold during his time in Australia. Tommy spoke very fondly of his Australian experiences and then gave an update of his life following the exchange - which included 6 years travelling the world as an international model and then time in the Merchant Navy. He is now hoping to further his studies in Paris. He attributes much of his success to the confidence and skills he developed as a Youth Exchange student.
