School for Life

Dear Jill,

Imagine what it would be like at the age of seven having to walk 13 kms every day just to get to school.

Your path isn't one that's clear on a nicely paved road, but instead, it's through dense forest across unforgiving terrain. You leave home before the sun comes up and get back when it's already gone down because that's just how long it takes you to walk the distance. 

Sadly, this is the reality for many children living in rural Uganda.

They desire an education so badly that these are the lengths they will go to just to get to school.

Mama Flavia, our school cook, told us, "The long distances travelled to attain an education and the forest area were the main reasons as to why there was a lot of uneducated people."

"Since School for Life came, every parent endeavours to send their children to school. Parents never knew the importance of education but now they see it and admire students who attend school at School for Life." 

Jill, YOU have the ability to make a difference in the lives of so many children who are starving for an education and to give them the opportunity to re-write their future.

We invite you to join us on April 7th as we walk the 13 kms round-trip and summit Australia’s highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko, with our inaugural Kosi Climb for Kids.

Not only will your participation directly impact School for Life’s work in providing quality education to children living in dire poverty but you will also get to “walk a day in their shoes".
