Last year, our bush care group participated in planting trees and native grasses in our designated regeneration area. The plants have been supplied through the Bendigo Bank’s green fleet program which funds the provision of native trees and shrubs across Australia, improving water quality, reducing soil segregation and providing essential habitat for native wildlife.  Some of these seem to have survived covid neglect, rain and more rain! We hope to be back soon. clearing the site and planting more.

We are now waiting for  the rain to stop, when we will be back out there, planting and weeding!

Significantly this was our first tree planting after nearly three years of bush regeneration. Photos show Rotarian Jill Hamilton, former Rotarian Harley Newman and Ken Forster at work across the road from the Shell Service station on Terrigal Drive. The service station manager having spotted our efforts to carry water across the road came over with a watering can to make our job easier.  (You might ask why we were planting trees with no access to a water supply?   Our supervisor had arranged a water supply for us but was unable to be present.)
