July: Is new leadership month
Rotary Moment: Christopher recounted the First Nations Protocol for the Pulling together program which was moving, cultural and brought all those present together in a very meaningful way. Our club sponsored three of the students in the West Vancouver Police Department canoe Ch'ichi'yuy
RYLA: President Ken's grandson just return from RYLA Lakelse. He had a great time. He was amazed at how quickly lasting friendships were made and he is now hoping to go to RYLA South and join the Interact Club in his school.
Wildfires: The wildfires in the interior are a big concern. Rather than each club doing there own thing to help, our District Governor Don prefers that a Rotary District 5040 fund is set up with cooperation from adjacent districts into which clubs will be encouraged to make donations and then this fund will then be used support local Rotary Clubs in the interior with their efforts to help rebuild communities. The strategic planning meeting this weekend will develop this concept and then DG. Don will advise all clubs of the structure.
Rotary Ride for Rescue: There was a great spread of pictures in Bright Lights in the North Shore News this week. Karen advised that by popular request registration for the ride next year will start in January
