Founders Rotarian Loretta Baxter recently visited the Rotary Club in Placencia, Belize and provided the following details: Rotary had 17 members in attendance.  They were reviewing their upcoming fundraiser--The End of the World Marathon where they have international runners.  They make $30,000 on it.
Other projects are:
1.  Awarding 5 scholarships for "Trades for Life"
2.  Needs of the local Volunteer Fire Department for equipment 3.  Computers for the local school 4.  Micro lending program of 22 sewing machines for local women 5.  Very excited about the 2 ambulances coming and for the first time having ambulance service on the peninsula.  Discussed that the service would be free to Belizeans and semi-ex patriots (snow birds from the U. S. and Canada would be charged annual subscription fee.
6. Held a Blood drive and had 22 donors
7. Reported progress on Raffle Tickets for a bike and helmet 8. Discussed that a date had been set for their annual auction in March which would benefit the local Humane Society.
