This week Waterloo Rotary Club once again paves the way for other clubs within our district. On Monday, April 27, the first District 7120 Rotary Corp will officially become real. 10 community members will commit to partner with us. President Coreen invited these individuals to become Rotary Community Corps members based on their character and commitment to live the Rotary Motto of “Service Above Self”. A Rotary Community Corps (RCC) is a team of non-Rotarian men and women who are committed to their community’s long-term development and self-sufficiency. An RCC is sponsored by a Rotary club and, like Rotaract and Interact clubs, is one of Rotary’s partners in service. The members of the corps are not members of the sponsoring club and are not to be considered as associate or apprentice Rotarians. The membership of each corps should consist of adults with good character and the desire and capacity to contribute toward enhancement of the community, with consideration given to those with leadership potential. Membership shall be open to any person living, working, or studying in or near the corps' community. (Rotary.org)
