Sizzling steaks, savory side dishes, delectable desserts, and compatible company were the elements of our Annual Steak Roast this past Monday Evening! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the grilling of those tantalizing steaks by “Grill Masters” Billy and Marty, who cooked the meat to perfection, suiting everyone’s individual taste!

Though this was not a “Regular Meeting” tonight, the attendance was superb! Thirty Members and seven guests filled the VFW to near capacity! We welcomed Chip and Stuart, Jim, Leandra, Ray, Lisa, and Xavier. (Sharon, we missed you this evening!) We gathered in small groups at the beautifully decorated tables, each bearing a festive Fall flair. Refreshments at the Cash Bar, cheerfully served by Hostess, Tabitha, completed the luscious meal.

Our Informal Meeting began, as Pres. Bruce invited us to join him in saying The Pledge. Marty gave The Blessing, offering thanks and praise to The Lord for our uniqueness, and our working together for the common good. Bruce had passed out the words to “You’re A Grand Old Flag”, and Jack led us in singing a stirring round of this old favorite.

Since our Laurie “cashed in” at last time’s Fifty-Fifty, the Kitty was down to a modest amount this week! Micah’s Ticket, #879, was drawn, and Micah selected the Queen of Spades from the deck, after a bit of an adjustment to the cards.

The highlight of this evening was brought to us by Pres. Bruce and Rose, whose melodious tunes on the guitar and fiddle blended with our voices, to make a fine “Sing Along”! We were delighted to be entertained by this talented “Duo” once again! A last call to the buffet table, and the singing of a few more favorites rounded out the Meeting.

Our next Meeting will be Monday, 9/20, at noon, and the Program will be Building a Hurdy-Gurdy, with Graig Hohm. Enjoy these beautiful Fall days, everyone! See you next week!
