"Twas a late June Evening,
And though a chill was in the air,
The sun set upon Rotarians
Who were so willing to share!
We reflected on the year past
With gratitude and pride.
In Service Above Self,
Indeed, we had tried!
Brew and Brats was the setting
And Tom served as "Emcee".
There were 50 who gathered,
Counting the cooks, you see!
Tonight, we would celebrate
President Bruce's great year,
And then, we'd welcome John
With "Good Luck" and a cheer!
"Welcome!" said Bruce,
With his friendly warm smile,
For we Naples Rotarians
Enjoy celebrating in style!
Jack led us in song
And Pat said the Prayer,
Then Bruce welcomed the guests,
Who were glad to be there!
Announcements came next,
And here's the order that be.
We bade a fond welcome
To Janet, Our D.G.
A Walk of Life Update
Was given by Rose,
July will be busy,
As everyone knows!
Tom talked about the Grape Fest
With updates for us all.
Exciting things are happening,
Later this Summer and Fall!
Dinner was delicious...
An Italian Buffet!
It was sure to please everyone,
And cooked just our way!
We thanked Skip and Judy,
Who arrange Special Meals.
They're always so successful,
And meet with great appeal!
Tom asked all Past Presidents
To please take a stand.
The First Woman President was Nancy,
So, we gave her a hand!
The Awards Committee,
Which is headed by Tom,
Received recognition,
Including Bruce, Karen, Nancy, and John!
Twelve of our Members
Had Perfect Attendance, you see.
Entailing growth, awareness, and fellowship,
Upon that, we can agree!
Our interesting Programs enrich us,
And help us to learn.
Appreciation from everyone
Rose worthily did earn!
There were two Robert Allen Awards
That were to be had.
And for each deserving Member,
Each of us was glad!
The first Robert Allen Award
Was given to Laurie.
Karen and Patrice were glad
To share her story!
Micah was pleased
To honor him and thank,
The second Robert Allen award
Was given to Frank!
Two Paul Harris Awards
Were given tonight,
To two worthy people,
Whose lights have shown bright.
The First Paul Harris Award
Was presented by Steve.
Congratulations to Brian Schenk,
Naples' great Mayor, we believe!
Sherry gave the second Paul Harris
In a posthumous way.
We remembered Ryan Rector
With gratitude today!
"We're a heartfelt Club!" said Tom,
"And thanks to each of you!"
