The evening shadows
Slowly spread across the Valley,
As Rotarians and Guests
Together did rally.
We gathered together
At a "Favorite Retreat".
For at Brew and Brats,
Each was guaranteed a seat!
Laughter and chatter
Began to fill the room,
It was the Gavel Dinner
Being the end of June.
Skip was there to greet us,
As one would expect,
He gave us a welcome smile.
And we each gave him a check!
Our meal was so tasty,
It was Mexican fare,
And Our Fun-loving Rose
Made sure tequila was there!
There were 28 Members,
Who filled each seat,
Along with some Guests,
Who made our group complete.
The Rotary "Year-End"
Was celebrated, you see,
As The Gavel would be passed
From John French to Liz Yee.
Tonight, we welcomed
Sharon, Chip, and Kathleen,
Stewart, Katie, and Leandra
Completed the scene.
John called The Meeting to order,
After we'd socialized a while,
Then we joined him in The Pledge,
Each wearing a smile!
"God Bless America"
Was the song that Jack chose,
"Twas a great choice for tonight,
It's a song everyone knows!
"Thanks for our work in the community!"
Said Micah during his prayer,
We strive to serve others,
As you are all aware!
Cindy, Our Greeter,
Made us all glad we came.
Her demeanor is so pleasant,
And her smile the same!
There were a few announcements,
As we would come to know.
There was the Margery Pawluk Golf Tourney
And the One for Camp O.!
There were "beverages along with golf"
At the Camp O. Tourney, you see,
And Sue's and John's Birdie
Was the highlight of the M.C.P.!!
A Reminder that "Dues are due"
To Laurie real soon.
Awards, Paul Harris and Robert Allen
Are coming...stay tuned!
There's no Meeting on the third,
But on the tenth, there will be
Jo Anne's Grape Fest Update,
And we'll hear from B.V.T.
To each and everyone,
There was an invite.
On July the 12th,
There'll be Rotary Lite.
On July 17th,
We'll meet during the day,
And DG Julie Carney
Will come by our way!

As we sat down to dinner,
Enjoying wine and beer!
John shared some highlights
From 2022-2023,
Naples Rotary had been busy,
And we had fun, as you could see!
There were so many events,
Too many to name,
But each of these experiences
Will in our hearts remain!
Throughout the year,
Each special event
Reminded us that Service
Is time well-spent!
Having Raul with us
This past school year,
Will be a fond memory
Naples Rotary will hold dear!
With Strategic Planning.
There was so much to learn,
And happily, "Rotary Lite"
Has made its return!
Our Float in the Parade
Was splendid, indeed!
And RYLA was active,
With Charlie in the lead!
Our commitment to the community
is steadfast...it's the truth!
We've responded to others' needs,
Especially our youth!
Being of service to our community,
Of this, we are fond.
But our outreach to others
Extends to the world beyond!
President John thanked Tyler
For the delicious fare,
Including Angela, who made sure
That "hydration" was there!
John thanked all of the Members
For doing their best
In helping this year
To be a "whopping success"!
Perfect Attendance Awards
Were subsequently given,
Congrats to 14 Members,
Towards this goal, who have striven!
The Final Award was presented
By Liz and Pat,
Thanking John for his leadership,
With a Special Plaque.
Our PE Liz, has had much
"Presidential Prep"!
To the Podium, she stode,
With confidence in her step!
She thanked many for encouragement,
As this New Year she will face.
With much incentive, she'll keep going
At her usual "Great Pace"!
At times, during the evening,
Of course, the rain fell...
But it suddenly stopped
With the ringing of the bell!
Much has been accomplished,
And many plans have unfurled,
Let us remember, as we work together,
To "Create Hope In The World"!
