Liz posted the Membership goals from 4/17/23 re: Induction, Recruitment and Retention. Additions and deletions were made to the charts.
Ralph provided thoughts and guidance on how to proceed:
In defining goals of membership, you can't do it all at once
Use the form as a guide. Some boxes may be NA: not applicable. Forms are a method, not a mandate.
Select goals to be small specific actions, set a time table and evaluate effectiveness after.
Assign 1-2 people to a task, more people makes it much more complicated.
Recruitment / Outreach is about our public image.
Recruitment/ Outreach comes prior to Induction.
Orientation and information should be part of process before Induction.
The Induction ceremony is not a static format, trial and error to arrive at the best result is normal.
Have mentors for potential new members, not necessarily the sponsor, but someone to explain the club and encourage participation. Frequent communication with potential/new member is important.
Mentors could have a packet of questions and answers to assist them in that function
Look to club members: who are good recruiters and who are good mentors?
Have a sign-in sheet for visiting Rotarians with a separate sheet for guests. Use guest sheet to follow up on possible new members.
Make your club "irresistable" to the community.
Ask people what are their interests, what do they want to get involved with?
