Happy St. Patrick's Day! Many of us arrived today wearing green and were met by our favorite greeter Frank! We numbered 20 Rotarians today without any  guests.

 

Jack rang the bell at 12:06pm as we rose for the Pledge. Our song was When Irish Eyes Are Smiling. Nancy gave us the traditional Irish Blessing: May the Road Rise to Meet You...

 

Announcements: The Trout Derby committee will have their sixth meeting tomorrow. Sign up sheets were circulated for volunteers to set up on Monday 3/31 and Derby Day on 4/1. Many donations have been received for the raffle baskets and angler sign-ups are coming in. The shocking is this Thursday starting at 9 am on the creek by the DEC facility on Rt. 245. We hope there will be many "FISH ON" on April 1st! * Jack attended PELS (President-Elect Learning Seminar) conference over the weekend. He found it enlightening to hear about how other clubs run. * March 30th is Rotary Wellness Day in Bristol. Contact Liz Yee for more info. * The District Learning Assembly is April 5th at Midlakes High School. It is free and runs from 7:40am-12:30pm. It's a great place to learn more about all aspects of Rotary. There are 30 breakout sessions- we can choose 3 to attend. Please let Jack know if you plan to go. * Hospeace House's Monte Carlo Night is May 17th, 6-10 pm at Maxfield Hose Memorial Hall. Volunteers are needed - let Sue know. * March is Rotary Water and Sanitation Month. It is Rotary 201's focus on Thursday 3/27 at 8pm on Zoom. Info is on the District site: Rotary7120.org

 

Board Meeting Highlights: We will be applying for a District Grant to help build a wash station at Camp Onseyawa. Four stations are needed and Victor-Farmington Rotary is also applying. * We will soon order five benches in memory of past Rotarians. * Cemetery clean up at Rose Ridge will be 4/12 at 9 am. We want to have it looking nice before the Easter sunrise service. * Our Spring Dinner will be Monday 4/28 at Engine 14. More info coming from Skip. * John and Sherry just returned from vacation in The Villages in Florida. They found a golf shirt there for Jack with Santa and palm trees that he can wear for Operation Santa this year! And for any golf tourney as well!

 

Jack's program today was a Club Assembly on our Club Goals for 2024-2025. Each club that achieves 14 of their goals can receive a Presidential Citation from Rotary International. Goals are set each Rotary year and are adjustable as needed. Jack walked us through the current list and where we are at this time.

Our membership goal is 60 people - we are close at 56.

We have a Strategic Plan which will be reviewed and enhanced. Service participation goal is 45 members - we are way ahead of that. Rotary International Annual Fund Contributions and Polio Plus Contributions are not currently easy to track. Benefactors and Estate planning are lofty goals that don't happen often in our club. We do really well for social activities and service projects and are far above our goals. We far exceed goals related to youth- Interact, Youth Exchange (inbound and outbound), RYLA participation. Jack received kudos at PELS for our small community's successful level of participation for youth! We also do well for District Conference attendance and leadership training participation. We need to learn more about Action Groups and Fellowships. ClubRunner could be more useful if members learned more about using it. It was suggested that Bring Your Laptop to Rotary Lite would be helpful. Overall, Naples Rotary is a vibrant Club we can be proud of!

 

Ace of Hearts was at $202. Karen had the ticket #9944. She chose the King of Clubs.

Happy Bills were given for a great vacation in Florida, Jack's valuable program and the feedback from PELS training Jack had. The VFW had a very successful fundraiser for Honor Flight Rochester.

A Rotary Moment was shared by Sherry. She attended a craft class in Florida where they were painting small rocks. Afterward, she learned that she could donate her creations to the local Rotary Club, who would package them with other goodies to give to patients undergoing chemo. Something as simple as pretty and inspirational rocks could make a difference to someone's day.
