Camp Onseyawa project and Assessment for 2024: Micah states that the project to create an office space in a shed is on hold for now due to new staff at Camp Whitman. It may go forward still this spring and will need funding. First quote from a Mennonite co. was for $13-14K. Micah also shared a memo from Camp O about an increase in assessment from $45 to $55 per club member to help support increased expenses for Camp O. There has not been an increase in 20 years. Jack moved to increase our budget to $55 per member to cover this, Sherry seconded, vote passed. Sherry mentioned that Food Link could help with food for camp.
Awards: DG Julie reminded each club that awards time is coming up. The district website shows the district awards available. We should look at our checklist of accomplishments to see what we may qualify for.
We have been asked to participate in the Total Eclipse event at the Community Park. Would we sell burgers and hots? No one was really interested in taking this on, will put it out to the whole club to see if interested.
Executive session - to discuss potential new member applicants.
Rotary International is hosting a video conference for International Women’s Day on March 8 at noon. If interested, we could gather at a location with internet access.
The wall plaque at The Redwood needs to be updated with the current and past president’s names. We also need to order more Rotary banners, IDs, books and wine glasses for guest speakers. Smaller glasses (9oz) would be fine and less expensive.
