The weather this evening
Was not exactly a "Winner",
As Rotarians gathered
For our Annual Spring Dinner!
We hurried along
Through the rain and the breeze,
Each clad in warm wraps,
Along with "parapluies"!
We were pleased with the venu
At Christmas, it seems,
So we gladly returned
To Engine 14!
We enjoyed some fellowship
Before the start of our meal
Chatting with friends,
And warm sentiments to feel.
"Make your way to your seats!"
Prompted John with a smile.
We gathered in small groups
So we could "chat awhile"!
There were two dozen Members,
We numbered twenty-four.
And with welcomed guests,
That made seven more!
Our meal was superb,
And motivated by Jack,
We thanked our Hosts
With an "oompah" and a clap!
There were 12 Naples Members
At the DTA in Bath.
We enjoyed a great lunch
In the aftermath!
Tomorrow is Wednesday
We'll be bagging the trees.
The Elementary Kids
Will be so pleased with these!
We're "fielding" new "Teams"
For upcoming Golf Times.
There'll be six Lovely Ladies
Who'll work out just fine!
Six Ladies will get lessons
From Mike G., "The Pro".
Cindy, Sherry, and Karen
Along with Sue, Liz, and Jo!
Of course, there had to be
A little "wisecrack"
"Therapy Sessions" will then be offered
By none other than Jack!
Here's hoping they're not weary
From bagging those trees
So they can swing that golf club
With confidence and ease!
The Gavel Dinner always marks
The end of the year,
And before we know,
That time will soon be here!
At this Celebration,
To mark the year's end,
Robert Allen and Paul Harris
Are awarded Dear Friends.
Where has April gone?
It will soon be May!
The Great Grape Race falls
On the second Saturday!
To Our Dear Rose
We give a big "shout"!
The Race Tickets she had
Were all sold out!!
For those who like golfing,
This will cheer you up!
The first Friday in June
Is the Harris Cup!!
Rotary Day of Service
Will be later in May
We'll do "Part 2" of Rose Ridge
If that's okay!
Plans for the District Conference
Are all firmly sealed.
The "Circus Arena" is close by,
See you all in Bloomfield!!
"If you're not going to the Conference,
Come help us!" said Sue.
"The Flea Market is the same day,
And we'd appreciate you!"
We gave thanks to Our Servers,
Tyler, Steve, and Nick.
Their delicious Greek Meal
Really did the trick!!
On great food and beverages
We had supped and sipped,
Then we applauded Our Planners,
Namely, Judy and Skip!
Our Membership is growing,
This, we must remember!
At our Gathering on May 1st,
We'll add some New Members!
There are many things happening
In Naples Rotary this Spring!
It's fun to be a part of it,
And feel the joy that it brings!!
