The Rotary Club of Corning, NY is proud to announce its newest Paul Harris Fellow, Pauline Emery.

Rotarians designate a Paul Harris Fellow to recognize a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives and mission of the Rotary Foundation, to build world understanding and peace. Ms. Emery is the Director of the Southeast Steuben County Library. As a Rotarian, she has served on the International Committee for several years and has led the planning and organizing of the Club’s annual International Dinner, raising $17,000-$20,000 each year for humanitarian projects around the world. She also leads the Club’s Literacy Committee and has spearheaded Rotary’s support of student reading programs at both Winfield Street and William E. Severn elementary schools in the Corning-Painted Post Area School District. Emery has also been involved in various theatrical productions at Winfield School and in the community and has helped organize the annual Scripps Regional Spelling Bee. Emery currently serves on the Corning Rotary Board of Directors as the International Committee Chair.
As Director of the Library, Emery has developed new outreach initiatives in the Corning area, launched numerous innovative programs and partnerships, and began a major renovation project. From storytelling at
Corning’s Centerway Square to pop-up library events in Caton, Hornby and Lindley, the Library’s activities are guided by a plan of community service aligned with the aspirations of the communities it serves.
Emery received her Master’s degree in Library Science from SUNY Buffalo.
