In 2008 I was asked to be involved in creating the Wagga Mens Shed and it has flourished.

My membership of Wollundry has helped the mens Shed become what it is today and Wollundry is a source of inspiration for Mens Shed members.

Guest Speakers  -  Steve McReadie and Robwyn English from The Smith Family

An interesting talk on the history and present day function of The Smith Family.
From humble beginnings in 1922 in Parramatta when a local family (the Smiths) assisted
local families, the organisation grew into one of Australia's best known welfare agencies.
In 2000 the focus of the organisation switched from welfare to education, with the introduction
of the Learning For Life program. Through partnerships with local schools the programs identify
those individuals that could benefit from improving their literacy, numeracy and life skills.
The Smith Family has a budget in excess of $20m and do all their own fundraising.
