President John opened the meeting on time, with Burmo leading Grace before President John called for visitors.
Brent Bannister was the only visiting Rotarian; Ken Taylor’s guest was Travis Downie and Franzi Traber, our Rotary Exchange Student, was a club guest.
The Sunday Market was a wash-out.
Fellowship followed for a while afterwards.
Darren Wallace repeated his call for assistance for RYPEN weekend. Still needed are at least two volunteers for supervision from 1-5 pm on Saturday 22nd next week and a bus driver with medium rigid (or heavier) Drivers licence to return participants to Griffith on Sunday Afternoon.
Mark Hillis reports he has 32 for dinner on Friday at the yachting outing.Needs numbers and confirmations. Money for deposits is already paid so please let him know.
Col Duff put out a request via Andy Irvine for two people to take over from he and Pat Ingram for running the Farmers' Market. Volunteers are needed and this would be a lengthy commitment, as in several years so that the stall-holders ave continuity of contact persons.
Paul Milde presented the Secretary’s information.
Jim Gibson reported that he, John Grey and David Benn played in the Rotary Cricket in Narre Warren. Thirty teams played four games each. Since participation was the ultimate prize we won't repeat the scoreline. However a graphic description of how the over-70's finished the tournament which shocked, appalleda nd, dare I say, amused all.
Our Sargeant today was James Ross who dispensed with jokes and gave us a rev-up about the need for apologies to be correctly submitted, meaning timely. He then launched into a Rowan Atkinson skit welcoming a new horde to Hell, which ultimately led to Rotarians who do not Apologize correctly appraently being somewhere in the company of fornicators, car thieves and those who mess up the catering numbers at the Commercial Club. James is definitely not Rowan Atkinson but he did make his point.
The AGM was commenced, with Paul Milde quickly dispensing with the previous minutes, accounts and busines arising. It was confirmed that Geoff Hamilton is incoming President for 2015/16.
