Love, Revenge and Haute Couture.

15 Probians braved a cold Melbourne day to visit Ripponlea for a guided tour of The Dressmaker exhibition based on the film of the same name. Our curator explained the central role of the costumes to evoke an era and sense of place as well as to portray the character of the actors. Who would have thought colour and style of dress could mean so much!
The costumes were beautifully displayed and everyone in the group had at least one favourite outfit. The consensus was that we would be viewing the film with a different eye if we saw it again.
To top off the morning we all enjoyed an ample Devonshire tea served in the converted stables in the grounds. Another successful Probus outing!
