Since opening in August 1992 Cinema Nova has become a Melbourne institution thanks to it’s dedication to bringing arthouse and quality cinema to the movie lovers of our city. The cinema’s diversity of on-screen entertainments has not only led it to become the largest independent cinema in Australia, if not the world; it has also seen Melbourne become a major centre for the moving image, leading to a thriving culture offering more theatrical diversity than can be found anywhere else in the southern hemisphere.
