Today Sam, reported that for members wishing to donate to the Rotary Endowment Fund there was a simple form that enabled them to offer the funds they intended to give.
In addition there are other categories to which contributions can be made, such as:
Polio Eradication. This includes the Gates 2:1 match and the Canada 2:1 match which makes $1.0=$5.00
The Annual Programs split 50/50 between the World Fund and the District Fund to enable local District grant activities.
The World Fund. An unrestricted gift for the greater good of Rotary determined by Trustees of the Rotary Foundation
Rotary Peace Centers. Rotary’s highest educational priority, to fund our Peace Fellows at one of Rotary’s 7 premier global institution of learning partners
Any of the six Global Grants Areas of Focus, including Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Peace and Conflict prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment and Economic and Community Development.
This was followed by Rotarian Terry Miller, visiting Rotarian from Vancouver Downtown Rotary, inviting us to attend the Rotary International District 5040-5050 Million Dollar Celebration Dinner on January 9, 2017 at Tsawwassen Springs, 5099 Springs Blvd, Delta, BC V4M 0A2.
This celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Rotary Foundation is for guests who will pay $10,000 or more to attend this dinner as well as paying for the dinner. The keynote speaker will be Rotary International President John Germ and it is hoped to reach a goal of $2 or $3 million of which $1 million are already in hand. The goal for the dinner is to bring in $1 million by the date of this celebration. Donors can specify to which areas they wish their funds to be directed.
