  • Many thanks to the Oktoberfest organizing committee for a job well-done. It will be a bit before the final numbers are in from the auction, but we do know everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves and left with smiles on their faces. Special thanks to all the donors for the live and silent auctions and for our sponsors, in particular Eurocan Industries Ltd. and Dr. Vahid Pazhoh (Vaheet Pashu) for sponsoring the event. FYI, Dr. Vahid Pazhoh, has recently immigrated to Canada and established a dental practice.

Special announcements; members' moments:

Program: Assistant Governor, Davinder Grewal, introduced our District Governor, Don Evans, who presented us with District business. Some of the points he covered are:
  • What wonderful work Rotarians have done, and continue to do for those who have been affected by the B.C wildfires.
  • How big Rotary really is, how many clubs, how many members, how many different projects are being worked on every day around the world.
  • There are no quantified statistics showing just how many hours are donated by our members to work on all of those projects. RI would like to remedy this and be able to publicize just how unbelievable our members are. Remember to provide your volunteer hours every month so we can do this and to celebrate all that YOU do.

Meeting adjourned with a toast to charitable giving.
