This Saturday at Nani Mau Gardens we will be assisting with repairs to siding and window frames for the relocation of Kua O Kala kindergarten thru sixth grade. This school was taken by the lava near Ahalanui beach park at Pohoiki and part of it intends to relocate to Nani Mau. Rotary Club of Pahoa and Hilo clubs are assisting with this effort and we are looking for carpenters from local construction companies to volunteer their time. The school year starts August 7th and there is a lot of work to do. The efforts for this Saturday will be mainly repairs to select areas of siding which will likely involve removing jalousie window hardware, remove window trim and frame, remove termite eaten T1-11 siding, replace siding with new, replace damaged parts of window frame, reinstall window frame, hardware and trim.  We would like to see carpenters and skilled laborers from local construction companies work jointly in this effort to repair the exterior siding elements that are damaged.  Please bring the following tools if you have available:

Generator, cords
Compressor, nail gun, hose
Skill saw, Table saw, Chop saw
Sawzall
Step ladders
Nail bars, flat bars
Hand tools
Palm sander
Cordless tools
