Rotary Club of South Hilo will be hosting the 2019 RYLA, planning the logistics.   We did secure reservations for our 2019 RYLA with KMC (Kilauea Military Camp, Volcano) just before Kilauea decided to move and shake us all.  Original request was for the February 22 weekend, however was not available at the time, so we opted to book the facility, dorms and all for February 15, 16 & 17.  Puhakuloa was an alternate venue, though I'm excited to learn that that KMC is re-opening.  SAVE THE DATE!

There a few of you that are already part of the Program committee, get ready, it's that time to begin meeting soon.  I know you all have wonderful creative ideas, and I can't wait to work with you all. I have secured Hospice of Hilo's, now Hawaii Care Choices' community room to meet on Thursday, September 20, at 5pm, at 1011 Waiaunenue Avenue, Hilo to begin our planing.

All logistics team (RCSH Committee members), all Island Club Presidents and or Youth Service representatives should attend (personally or virtually) , so that we can all meet, understand our roles as we plan for this fabulous event.  RYLA is an island wide program, designed and run by Rotarians in all 9 clubs on our island.   I know distance is a challenge, however please keep posted via email, and communicate directly with me.  We would like you all to be informed.

Please pass this email to members of your club interested in being part of the RYLA program.  We are always looking for help as Facilitators, Trainers, Runners, Drivers, just mentioning a few.  Building a team or committee within your club is always helpful when working on RYLA.

This video (link attached below), is a great one to share with members of your club at your Rotary meeting.  Let's start to recruit High School students in your area and get the word out.  If you are not the contact person for your club, please forward this email or send me contact info of your representative for your club.   Packets and instructions will be communicated to all Club Presidents and Youth Service representatives.

Emailing or text is the best way to reach me. (cell number below)

I hope to see you all next week Thursday.

Mahalo for all that you do!  A Hui Hou!
